SEO Content Management System - File Upload
|
This example shows how quickly files can be uploaded into your SEO Content Management System. Whenever working in the CMS, adding anything from the admin toolbar, always keep in mind that the folder you are working in is going to be the destination of the item you are adding. In this case, I am adding a robots.txt file to the root folder. Starting by selecting the contents tab from the homepage and using the add item menu, finally selecting the file option. |

The only required fields for uploading a file to your CMS is a title and the actual file from your harddrive. In this case, I titled my file the same as the filename on my system, so robots.txt is both the system identification as well as the filename. The title value can be any value you want. |

Using a standard browser file dialog, you browse your harddrive and locate the file you are going to upload into your search engine optimization CMS. This uses standard browser functions, just as any other browse button would invoke from a webpage. |

Once you submit your form with your required fields, you will upload the file to your CMS and be shown a confirmation screen, as well as the contents of your file. The confirmation view shows the file contents, if this were an HTML file, you would see the code in confirmation view, it wouldn't render the HTML in the browser. As you can see, there are no robots directives in the file, just a comment. The SEO CMS does not allow completely blank files to be uploaded, so there must be some content. This comes into play with search engine site verification files, robots.txt and a few others, but simply applying a single comment is sufficient for this procedure. |
